Reservations are confirmed by Merchant House once the Hotel has received credit/debit card details to secure the booking. Verbal quotations are not binding unless confirmed in writing by the Hotel.
Group Bookings- You can book up to 4 rooms on our website, if you wish to book any more than 4 rooms please contact the Hotel direct on 01872 272450, as breakfast options and cancellation policies vary.
For any group bookings with 8 or more rooms we require a minimum stay of 3 nights.
Cancellation & No Show

Our Flexible rates are a 24 hour cancellation policy when you book with us direct. We must be notified by telephone and followed up in writing before 2 pm the day prior to your arrival. If cancelled after 2pm the day prior to arrival one night’s accommodation will be charged.
In the case of a no show the total amount of your reservation will be charged/retained.
Group bookings (over 4 rooms) cancellation policy varies depending on number of people therefore please contact the Hotel direct on 01872 272450.
Please note: Bookings made via an Agent can only be cancelled or amended by the Agent direct with the hotel. Please note cancellations for group bookings will vary please contact Reception for details prior to booking.
Payment of Accounts
Please note we do not accept cash as a form of payment throughout the Hotel.
Flexi Rate- If you have booked our Flexi Rate- payment is taken the morning of arrival from the card details provided when booking.
If you are booking on behalf of a guest and require payment to be made from a different card please contact the hotel on 01872 272450 to arrange authorisation of payment.
Your credit card details will only ever be charged without your consent in accordance with the Hotels Terms & Conditions; for cancellations, no show or damage charges.
We do not have account facilities therefore if you are booking a large group we will require payment in advance so please contact Reception to discuss other payment options.
£10 per dog, per night charge applies and is payable by card upon arrival, if not already taken the morning of arrival.
Smoking & Damages
Smoking policy: It is against the Law to smoke in the hotel.
If you smoke in your room you will be charged a £100 fine plus £100 per night if the room is unable to be re-let which will automatically be debited from your card details provided.
Any damages to your room will be charged for in full using the credit / debit card details you provided as security.
Damages caused by dogs will be charged in full.
Dogs are not allowed to be left unattended at any time.
The Hotel “Merchant House” shall not, (except in respect of death or personal injury caused by the Hotels negligence or in circumstances of fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation), be held liable for any direct, indirect, special or consequential loss, damages, cost, expense or any other claims, (whether caused by the Hotel, employees, agents or otherwise).
Merchant House has 1 fully accessible double room with ramp access and a full wet room bathroom. The hotels front entrance is accessible with removable ramps to gain access into the lounge area. For the Full Access statement please click here.
The Site and its original content, features and functionality are owned by Merchant House and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.
We may terminate your access to the Site, without cause or notice, which may result in the forfeiture and destruction of all information associated with you. All provisions of this Agreement that by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Our Site may contain links to third-party sites that are not owned or controlled by Merchant House.
This Agreement (and any further rules, polices, or guidelines incorporated by reference) shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of United Kingdom, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.
Information Collection And Use
While using our Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, postal address and phone number (“Personal Information”).
The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Changes To This Agreement
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms and Conditions by posting the updated terms on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree to any of this Agreement or any changes to this Agreement, do not use, access or continue to access the Site or discontinue any use of the Site immediately.
