Secrets of the Locals: Best Coffee Houses

If you’re like us, you’ll need your caffeine fix each day and when it comes to coffee we’re a bit fussy.  We like it strong, expertly blended with a rich roasted scent and somewhere we can kick back, read a paper or perhaps catch up on emails… if it’s dog friendly even better!

Read on to find out the secrets of the locals (and by locals we mean, er, us) Here’s where we’re raving about for our roasted-blend favourites…

108 Coffee Shop

Origin Cornish coffee? Check! Independent cool vibe? Check! Friendly yet experienced Baristas? Check! 108 is a hat trick of all you would expect when it comes to coffee cool. Homemade cake is the icing on this superb hangout that also has free wifi and is dog friendly – Bingo, full (coffee) house!

Fig

Just down the road from Merchant House you’ll find Fig.  Situated in Lemon Street Market this is the perfect people-watching spot.  We like to sit ‘outside’ in the centre of the hustle and bustle of the market but still perfectly sheltered and enjoy a delicious Mocha and a pastry.  Murphy loves it too as it’s dog friendly! Well if it’s good enough for Fido…

Mannings

When it comes to coffee we do love Mannings. Fantastic Baristas, tasty Cornish Coffee blends, large stylish cups and a sense of vibrancy, Mannings is the place to be seen!  We particularly like how it’s close to Lemon Quay, the centre of everything in the city!

Grounded Truro

Independent, petite, unique and dog friendly, Grounded ticks all of our boxes.  Friendly team, expertly made coffee and did we mention cake?  The Millionaire Shortbread is to die for!

Where are you drinking coffee in Truro? Do let us know if there’s somewhere you think we should be (relaxing with a Flat White, reading the papers…) we mean: writing about and we’ll check it out!
