Many Happy Returns for Merchant House!

It’s our birthday!

Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday dear Meeeerchaaaaaant….

Merchant House is two years old today! That’s right, a whole 24 months of trading. We’ve undergone a ground-floor refurbishment, countless guests visiting and we have a superb new conference pack coming your way very soon. Let the good times roll!

We’re not the only ones who have had a lot on their plate over the past two years; several eat-and-drinkeries have popped up near Merchant House, which we welcome with open arms:

You can enjoy slaw, steak and sundaes from Mustard and Rye, artistic deliciousness from Gravy Boesti and some fine, fine cocktails from The Nightjar.

(We’ve featured some of them on our blog, have a goosey!)

Who would have thought that Truro would become such as cultural hub? We’re so pleased that independent establishments such as these are making a name for themselves on the high street.

Moving away from food for the minute, we have enjoyed our first Christmas’ and Valentine’s Days as Merchant House, playing host to many business and leisure guests, we’ve loved soaking up the atmosphere and the je ne sais quoi that comes from working in the hospitality sector at these times of year.

We may work long hours all year round, but times like those make it all worthwhile – watching happy guests enjoying life.

Moving on to the future – we’re happy to have a new business pack coming your way very soon for those requiring a conference in Cornwall. We’ve kitted out our two meeting rooms with projectors, flatscreen TVs and room for any business arrangement, as well as much more; watch this space!

Living and breathing Merchant House has been a pleasure since day one, whenever a guest leaves with a smile on their face and a full English in their stomach, we know we’ve done our job.

Everyone, together now!

For we’re a jolly good hotel, and so say all of us!

Here’s to the next two years.
