Dogs are top in Truro, and there’s nothing we like better than seeing Murphy’s little face light up when he sees we’ve got the lead and doggy treats ready for an adventure!
Here are five of our favourite places to wander with man’s best friend.
Trelissick gardens: Woodland walks and open parkland excite Murphy like nothing else, and the opportunity to make new friends is something everyone can enjoy!
Boscawen Park: Head to the top of the tennis courts of Boscawen Park for a spot of canine runaround, and Truro River around the perimeter is great for dogs (and owners) who find a walk next to running water a much-needed time for reflection and calm in their day.
Perranporth Beach: Dogs on leads are welcome on this enormous Cornish beach, and on a lovely sunny day be sure to head to The Watering Hole for a little something to keep energy levels up.
Log burner, page-turner: Taking it easy? We’re always pleased to see doggies in our Lounge/Bar area, and neither man nor canine can resist the lure of our log burner! (Dogs welcome all day, with breakfast time the only exception.)
The William IV: Just down the road from Merchant House is this traditional St Austell Brewery-owned pub, they welcome well-behaved dogs and do a smashing Sunday roast!
Merchant House translates directly as ‘Dog Friendly’ in the canine tongue, and rightly so – there’s everything you could need, even a welcome pack from his Royal Highness Merchant Mutt Murphy to welcome you on check in!
