We’ve tried and tasted as many hot chocolates as possible and here’s our personal pick of the best. Because after all, what is October without a creamy hot chocolate (fantastic view optional)
One of our favourites in Truro is Uneeka! A gift shop with a café upstairs looking out across Truro so you can watch the flurry of shoppers and business people below. The Uneeka Hot Chocolate is light yet creamy, tasty and has chocolate shavings on top. For an added bonus, enjoy one of their small hazelnut and chocolate mini pastries, they’re only £1 and they taste divine!
Making the most of some of the best views, Gylly Beach Café is literally situated on the beach! With a fantastic outdoor area for when the sun is shining and a retractable roof so that when it rains you’re protected from the elements whilst still having that magnificent unobstructed view. There’s even blankets available to wrap around you if you’re feeling a bit nippy! The Hot Chocolate here is fantastic, served in a tall mug, really rich and with obligatory cream and marshmallows to finish!
One of our favourite spots for a Hot Chocolate is Talland Bay Beach Café, near Looe. A picturesque beach with parking available, there are pretty little beach huts to dine in overlooking the beach, really quirky and cute! The Hot Chocolate comes in a mug with a tower of cream and marshmallows, it’s divine!
Everything Espressini do is fantastic. Fact. Not the place if you’re after a view (although a great spot for people watching) but for hot drinks in Falmouth they are unrivalled. Award winning Baristas? Check! Their own locally roasted beans available? Check! Legendary Hot Chocolate? Check! Their Hot Chocolate is real chocolate dissolved in milk… oh yes, welcome to chocoholic heaven!
If you’re looking for the ultimate Hot Chocolates in Cornwall you have to visit the Beach Hut at Watergate Bay. Situated on the beach, you can sit outside in the autumn sunshine overlooking the sand or curl up indoors and watch the surfers and the dogs running wild. Their Extreme Hot Chocolate is pretty extreme but soooo good! It’s so chocolatey and covered with cream and Disco Discs or “Jazzies” – basically big chocolate buttons covered in hundreds and thousands! It’s probably an entire days calorie allowance but who cares?! You’re on holiday!
