There is a bus stop directly outside of Merchant House. The bus times going from Truro are as follows:

Weekdays
From 7.05 am and then every ½ hour  – last bus 23.35 pm

Saturday
From 10.05 am and then every ½ hour – last bus 23.35 pm

Sunday
From 9. 35 am and then every hour – last bus 18.35

 

Please note, when coming to Cornwall, the A30 can be slow at times but once you get here Cornwall is truly amazing. We have the following advice for travelling to Cornwall:

  • Set off early in the morning to avoid traffic
  • Pack water and snacks in case traffic is busy
  • Fill up with fuel prior to joining the A30
  • Pack doggy treats, a doggy bowl and water if your pooch is coming too
  • Stop the car and take your dog for a little walk before joining the A30
  • Finally…make sure you arrive with us in time to enjoy complimentary tea and homemade cake after the journey!

By Road

By Rail
Catch a train direct to Truro station. For more information visit www.thetrainline.com
The station is only a 20 minute walk away or a few minutes by taxi.

By Taxi
We’d like to note that not all taxi companies are dog friendly, so we recommend you use a2b taxis which are happy to accommodate hounds!

We’d also suggest if you’re planning to catch a cab between 8:00-9:00am to get you to work or train station that you book in advance as due to busy periods and limited companies we cannot guarantee same day booking. We would advise to book this before your stay or 1-2 days before you require the taxi.

By Air
There are daily flights to nearby Newquay Airport from London and Manchester. Once you land, it’s just a 45 minute car or taxi ride away to Merchant House. Car Hire, there are plenty of car hire opportunities from Newquay Airport, take a look at Avis, Hertz and Europcar.

Cost for a taxi to the hotel should cost between £35 and £50 depending on the time of day.

By Bus

There’s a bus stop right outside our historic Truro city hotel meaning whether you want to just drop into the centre or travel further afield, the bus service is frequent and right on your doorstep! Plan your trip, here.
