Explore with Merchant House: Woodland Walks

DSC_0602

Don’t get us wrong, we love the city – and sitting on Truro’s shoulder we have the advantage of both the whisper of the high street and the peace of the perimeter; but sometimes you’ve just got to get back to nature, you know?

We’ve rounded up three leafy, earthy, 100% organic walks for those wanting to clear their heads during a stay in Cornwall’s capital:

Trellisick

A National Trust property, Trelissick Garden welcomes walkers, ramblers, dogs and children to their trail on the banks of the River Fal. FalRiver.co.uk have even been so kind as to offer a download packed full of information for you, so let’s get laced up and go!

Idless Woods

Just two miles from Truro is Idless Woods, a wonderful mixture comprising of Bishop’s Wood, St Clement Woods, Lord’s Wood and Lady’s Wood. ‘Wood’ you believe it, eh

Walkers, cylists, dog walkers and orienteering fans all enjoy Idless adventures, and when you visit be sure to keep your wildlife eyes peeled for deers and otters (we know Murphy always does!)

Tehidy Country Park

With over nine sprawling miles of paths amongst the 250 acres of Tehidy Country Park, with the circular walk around the lake being very popular with little legs (and some longer ones, too!)

Uncertain explorer? Tehidy pride themselves on their foolproof signposts, so everyone – no matter their sense of direction – can indeed have a grand day out.
