Explore with Merchant House: Coastal Walks

The sea, the sun, the salt, the swell, the smiles; read our top coastal walks during a stay at Merchant House.

Three beach treat

Falmouth is only a short drive (or train, we’re a tiny stroll from the station) from Merchant House, and we’re sure you’ll be spoilt for choice with their beaches – so let’s go shoreseeing!

Maenporth, Swanpool and Gyllyngvase are all connected by the South West Coast Path, enabling you to take in coastal and seaside sights surrounding all three of Falmouth’s queen beaches.

Potter around the peninsula

The Roseland Peninsula is a little farther away from Merchant House than Falmouth (approx. 30 minute drive in total), but should definitely be on the ‘to do’ list of those staying in the county.

Starting at Porthbeor Beach, the coast path takes you to towards Portscatho to Towan Beach and Porth – please note. Due to a technical access path, sure feet and walking boots are highly recommended!

Snap happy strolls

The South West Coast Path connects many, many beautiful sections of Cornwall that are just impossible to see by car.

Whether you choose to set off from Falmouth, Penryn or St Austell make sure to take your camera – our AONBs can surprise even the most seasoned of strollers!
