Cyclists and Walkers
Truro’s a great city base for any cyclists, walkers or outdoor explorers and Merchant House is a great place to store all the essential gear for your travels. We have lots of free onsite parking if you’re bringing vehicles with you, and a host of other facilities to make your life that little bit easier!
If you fancy a day walking across the rugged Cornish moors, or perhaps exploring a muddy woodland, we’ve got a laundrette and drying room for you to wash all of your kit ready for the next day’s adventure!
We’ll be happy to wash any food or drink containers you might have and we’ll also fill up your flasks so that when you’re on the road you can stay warm and toasty wherever you are.
The South West Coast Path is 630 miles and can be quite a challenge to walk it so why not make a start on a small section and perhaps return to Merchant House to walk another section of it later in the year. Find out more about the South West Coast Path here. We can also recommend a local walking guide, Charlotte, please just ask for further details.
If you’re looking for cycle supplies or spots when you’re on holiday in Cornwall, try Cycle Logic, Mineral Tramways or Bissoe Bike Hire. Why not take a ferry ride as part of your adventure too? Take a look, here.
We’re also lucky enough to get a fantastic 10% discount from our friends at Cotswold Outdoor! So ask our reception team for a discount code, pop into our local Truro store and stock up on supplies!
