Here at Merchant House we’ve enjoyed the summer holidays and the beautiful weather; but now all the kids are back at school, there are several things we’d like to do…
Take an Art Class!
The Truro Arts Company is hosting the Scott Russell Portraiture Workshop on Monday 21st September and we’re keen to get our brushes dirty. Enjoy the 10:30 to 4:30 class and enhance your arty side!
Go on a Boat Tour
With school in session, boat trips will be much quieter, so instead of fighting through the hoards of people, take a drink on board, sit back and enjoy the view. Enterprise Boats has a route from Truro to Falmouth and St Mawes, which calls at Trelissick and Malpas—perfect for a day of perfecting those sea legs.
Visit Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm
Enjoy an afternoon drink at a real working cider farm! Take a tour and learn about the art of cider making, take a trailer ride through the fruit orchards, meet the farm animals and of course, taste some of the produce!
Feel Cultured at the Tate St Ives
The Tate brings you some of the finest art works and is currently exhibiting the Images Moving Out Onto Space project. The exhibition is focused on the questions of art in motion making it a particularly interesting time to visit the Tate.
Enjoy Cocktails and Stay the Night in the City!
How about a night out in style? Visit our sister hotel Mannings just down the road to sample some of the best cocktails on offer in Truro before a refreshing stroll back to Merchant for a cosy night’s stay in the city.
